Who this notice covers

This notice applies to betnook.net, which is published under the name BetNook. Send any privacy question or request to webmaster@betnook.net.

Information we receive

Server logs. betnook.net reaches you through a hosting provider, and as with every website its servers note some basic technical details each time a page is requested: your IP address, which page you asked for, when you asked, and the user-agent string your browser sends. Those records exist to serve the site, keep it secure and diagnose faults. The hosting provider keeps them under its own retention rules, and we never use them to profile visitors.

No analytics, no advertising. betnook.net runs no analytics, measurement or advertising services, and no service that follows you from one website to another.

Messages you send us. When you write to webmaster@betnook.net, we receive your address, your message and any attachments. We use them for one purpose: answering you and dealing with what you asked.

There are no accounts, sign-up forms, comment sections or newsletters on the site, so nothing else is gathered. We never ask for payment details or casino logins, and you should never send them to us.

Cookies

BetNook places no analytics or advertising cookies, and in fact no cookies of its own of any kind. Our hosting provider may rely on strictly necessary technical measures to serve the site securely and shield it from abuse. Should that ever change, this page will be updated beforehand.

Leaving betnook.net

Following a link to a casino or any other website takes you off betnook.net. From then on, that site's privacy policy applies, and it may place its own cookies or gather information about you. Read the operator's privacy policy before you create an account.

Things we do not do

Our pages carry no social media buttons, outside comment systems, advertising networks or video players that pull content from other companies. Fonts load from betnook.net itself, so viewing a page sends nothing to a font service.

A click on a Play button sends your browser from betnook.net to the casino's site. We attach nothing about you to that request: no name, no email address, no other details. Anything the casino records from that point falls under its own privacy policy.

Our approach and how long we keep things

We follow the principles of Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) when handling personal information: we gather only what we need, for a purpose we state, and hold it no longer than required. Emails stay with us only for as long as it takes to handle your request and any follow-up, then they are deleted. Server logs are held by our hosting provider for its usual operating period.

What you can ask us

You may ask which personal information about you we hold, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. Send the request to webmaster@betnook.net. We may have to confirm who you are before we act on it. If our answer does not satisfy you, you can take the matter to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Keeping information safe

betnook.net is delivered only over an encrypted connection. With no accounts and no forms, we hold almost no personal information that could be taken. Messages to webmaster@betnook.net pass through our email provider and are read only by those who run BetNook; we never share them, sell them or use them for marketing.

Disclosure to others

Personal information is never sold or rented.

Minors

BetNook is meant for adults who have reached the legal gambling age: 19+ in most of Canada, 18+ in Alberta, Manitoba and Quebec.

Updates to this notice
